Research Assistant (50%)

Salary: ?15,735 p.a. pro rata

This six month appointment will work on an EPSRC project entitled "Minority Language
Engineering".

Applicants should have contacts with at least one bilingual community in the UK and must be
fluent in a community language not indigenous to Britain (e.g. Panjabi, Chinese, Turkish,
Somali). Experience of undertaking review/interview work involving such communities and/or
working with health/social services documentation advantageous.

A basic knowledge of the applications of computers to language research and language engineering
is essential. Knowledge of the Text Encoding Initiative preferred.
