Routledge has initiated a new series of corpus-based frequency
dictionaries. The editors for this series are Paul Rayson (Lancaster)
and Mark Davies (BYU).
In late 2005, the first two books in this series were published:
German (Jones/Tschirner):

isbn=9780415316330&parent_id=&pc=/shopping_cart/search/search.asp?search

Spanish (Davies):

In addition, a frequency dictionary of Portuguese is now underway
(Davies/Preto-Bay), and work should begin soon on dictionaries for
French and Arabic.
In the case of Italian, however, we have yet to identify possible
authors. If you are interested in authoring a frequency dictionary of
Italian -- based on a robust corpus comprised of several genres --
please feel free to contact us: Paul Rayson
(rayson@exchange.lancs.ac.uk) or Mark Davies (mark_davies@byu.edu).
Thanks,
Mark Davies
