ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The first international workshop on `Frontiers of Combining Systems'
(FroCoS'96) was held in Munich in 1996. Like its predecessor FroCoS'98 is
intended to offer a common forum for research activities in the general
area of combination and integration of systems.
TOPICS
In various areas of logic, computation, language processing, and artificial
intelligence there is an obvious need for using specialized formalisms and
inference mechanisms for special tasks. To be usable in practice, these
specialized systems must be combined with each other, and they must be
integrated into general purpose systems.
SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM
The invited speakers are Krzysztof Apt, Doug Howe, Claude Kirchner, and
Andrzej Tarlecki; in addition there are 17 contributed papers. A

REGISTRATION
Until September 1 the registration fee is 300 Dutch guilders; after
September 1, the fee is 450 Dutch guilders. For members of the program and
organizing committees the early registration fee is 150 Dutch guilders, and
the late fee is 300 Dutch guilders.
The registration fee includes:
- Registration package (with a copy of the proceedings available
after the workshop)
- Daily lunches
- Food service
- Workshop dinner

WORKSHOP VENUE
FroCoS'98 will be held in the Eggertzaal of the Nieuwe Kerk, in the center
of the city, just a 5 minute walk away from Amsterdam Central Station.
