The 5th biennial European Conference on Speech Communication and =
Technology, EUROSPEECH'97, of the European Speech Communication =
Association (ESCA), will be held on the island of Rhodes, Greece, from =
September 22 to 25, 1997. Host cities of the previous conferences were =
Paris (1989), Genova (1991), Berlin (1993) and Madrid (1995).
Rhodes is a well known Greek island, situated in the southern Aegean =
Sea, in the Mediterranean. It is famous all over the world for its long =
history, significant ancient and medieval monuments, its natural beauty =
and sandy beaches, and its highly developed tourism. Furthermore, =
September is a pleasantly warm month and being at the end of the tourist =
season, it is the most appropriate period to visit Greece. EUROSPEECH'97 =
will be held in the Convention Center of Rodos Palace Hotel. Rodos =
Palace is a 5 star hotel complex by the seashore, 4 km from the city of =
Rhodes. Easy access to the conference venue is provided by direct =
flights to Rhodes from many European cities, or via Athens.
Due to the growing international interest in speech technology and =
Rhodes's location, EUROSPEECH'97 is expected to attract many =
participants from all over the world.
As in previous conferences, an Industrial and Scientific Exhibition will =
be held during EUROSPEECH'97. Companies, Research Institutes, =
Universities, Associations and Consortia of EU-supported projects will =
have the opportunity to show their products, prototypes, technologies =
and research results to a large international audience working in the =
rapidly growing field of Speech and Language Communication and =
Technology.=20
On previous occasions over 800 participants were present.
CONFERENCE EXHIBITORS
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Exhibition will run from the 22nd to the 25th September 1997. It =
will be held in the central lobby of the Conference Center. Potential =
Exhibitors may choose one of the following three methods of =
participation at Eurospeech'97: (A) Participation with Attended Stand, =
(B) Participation with Unattended Poster, (C) Advertisement.
OPTION A: PARTICIPATION WITH ATTENDED STAND
The Exhibitors will be offered:
- modular stands of 9 m2 floor, each with basic furniture, signs, =
electrical power connections, lighting, cleaning and security =
(additional furniture and insurance coverage are extra).
- A full-page advertisement in the Conference Program
- Advertisement in the Conference Proceedings on CD-ROM
- One copy of the Conference Proceedings on CD-ROM.

OPTION B: PARTICIPATION WITH UNATTENDED POSTER
The Exhibitors will be offered:
One display board and table for information material will be available =
for each participating company, institution or association. Each board =
will have 2 m2 of display area. ****Participants will be expected to =
provide all material necessary for creating the desired poster display, =
and any information material to become available to the Exhibition =

Sponsors will be mentioned in all Conference publications (on paper, =
CD-ROM and electronic form). Furthermore, they will be provided with:
