It seems clear that at least from an etymological point of view,
one year anniversary is redundant. As well, something like one
month anniversary is nonsensical from ths perspective.

My question for those arguing the etymological angle is
whether there is a 'correct' way of saying 'one month anniversary'.
In other words, does English have another word like anniversary
(like remembrance?) which can be used in these contexts without
the imbedded implications of the anni- prefix?

If there isn't, then clearly the meaning of anniversary has
expanded to fill a semantic void, rather than an 'incorrect' usage
of the word becoming normalized in everyday parlance over a more
correct form.
