There was a really cute talk at PSB last year on "crowd-sourcing"
construction of an ontology by setting up a game. Here's a little
extract from the abstract:

"...the rudimentary ontology constructed in this study was composed in only
two days at a cost of only 3 t-shirts, 4 coffee mugs, and one chocolate moose."
