We are seeking a Senior Researcher in Computational Linguistics/Natural
Language Processing with an excellent research record as evidenced by
publications in reputable journals. Project experience or links with
industry would be an advantage as would teaching or PhD supervision
experience. Duties include collaborative research and producing first
class research/publications, involvement in grant applications, and some
teaching and student supervision. This appointment is for two years in
the first instance.

background. The covering letter should also present a research plan
(about 1,000 words) which you would like to pursue. The interviews are
scheduled to take place in April with the starting date as soon as

Established by Prof. Mitkov in 1997, the Research Group in Computational
Linguistics (http://clg.wlv.ac.uk) is a highly successful one,
delivering cutting-edge research in a number of NLP areas such as
anaphora resolution, automatic summarisation, question answering,
lexical knowledge acquisition, text categorisation, named entity
recognition, information extraction, corpus construction and annotation,
automatic terminology processing, multilingual processing, and
multiple-choice question generation. To a large extent, this research
has been undertaken in projects funded by major UK funding bodies and
commercial partners.
