                ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Senseval (http://www.senseval.org) is the international organization
    devoted to the evaluation of Word Sense Disambiguation Systems.
    Senseval-1 took place in the summer of 1998 with tasks for English,
    French, and Italian, and culminating in a workshop held at
    Herstmonceux Castle, Sussex, England on September 2-4.
    Senseval-2 took place in the summer of 2001, and was followed by a
    workshop held in July 2001 in Toulouse, in conjunction with ACL-2001.
    It included tasks for 12 languages.
    Senseval-3 took place in the spring of 2004, and was followed by a
    workshop held in July 2004 in Barcelona, in conjunction with
    ACL-2004. More than 55 teams participated with over 160 systems in its
    16 tasks.
                  We are now getting ready for SemEval-2007!
    As the nature of the tasks in Senseval has evolved to include semantic
    analysis tasks outside of word sense disambiguation, the Senseval
    Committee is pleased to announce the debut of
      "SemEval-2007: 4th International Workshop on Semantic Evaluations".
    SemEval-2007 evaluation is scheduled to start February the 26th up to
    April the 1st, and the workshop is planned for June, hopefully in
    conjunction with ACL-07 in Prague. As with previous evaluations,
    participants will be provided with training data, and will have the
    chance to test their systems on common data sets. Similar tasks will
    use the same data format.
    19 different tasks have been proposed for SemEval-2007. We are now
    seeking to get feedback from potential participants, and kindly ask
    those who may be interested to participate in one or more SemEval
    tasks, to fill in the call for interest in participation form
    available at:
             http://nlp.cs.swarthmore.edu/semeval/interest.shtml
    Please fill in this form before December 1, 2006. Your feedback is
    very much appreciated and will help us better organize SemEval-2007!
    Thank you,
    SemEval organizers
