There are also phonological and intonational differences between
SEE and British English. I recall a story by Ivan Bratko,
a Slovenian who earned his PhD in Edinburgh, who once served
as an English to English translator between some British speakers
and some Japanese who could not understand rapidly spoken British.

American and SEE speakers tend to pronounce trailing syllables in
words such as "secretary" more clearly than the Brits.
