    Longman Dictionaries, part of Pearson Education, is looking for a hands-on
    Japanese native-speaker with experience in the software or electronics
    industry for 12 months starting as soon as possible. The role involves the
    following tasks:

    - organizing and managing testing of electronic bilingual dictionary data by
    Japanese nationals

    - advising on electronic fonts and screen designs

    - assessing other media content such as pictures, spoken audio, etc. This
    involves linking different assets like sound files and pictures to entries

    The ideal candidate would have the following skills:
    * Excellent English language skills
    * Knowledge of databases in electronic product development, especially
    dictionaries, such as CD-ROMs, PDAs, handheld dictionaries, etc
    * Project management skills, including experience of standard project
    management techniques, using Microsoft Project
    * Good communication skills, able to communicate objectives and
    maintain an excellent working relationship with in-house editorial and
    technical staff and occasionally external suppliers.
    * CD-ROM software development experience would be useful but not
    essential
     
    The work is available immediately, and is based in Harlow, UK (midway
    between Cambridge and London). Salary according to experience.
