Structural Semantic Interconnections (SSI) online
Linguistic Computing Laboratory - Università di Roma "La Sapienza"
------------------------------------------------------------------
It is our pleasure to announce the online release of
our knowledge-based Word Sense Disambiguation algorithm:
Structural Semantic Interconnections (SSI).
SSI is based on structural pattern recognition and exploits a lexical
knowledge base (integrating WordNet and other lexical resources)
to make the most appropriate sense choices for words in context.
The choices are justified in terms of a semantic graph including
the semantic interconnections maximizing the overall degree of
connectivity. Semantic interconnections are inspired by the notion
of lexical chains and subsequent works.
After a free registration, the algorithm can be accessed online
from the following address:
Literature on the algorithm and other works carried out in the laboratory
can be accessed from: http://lcl.di.uniroma1.it

Roberto Navigli
