Dear corpora-list members

Linguateca has just completed HAREM, the first evaluation contest of
named entities recognition in Portuguese, see www.linguateca.pt/HAREM/

We make available, for development and evaluation purposes,
- the full evaluation setup (a suite of programs with several advanced
functionalities)
- and the golden collection (139 documents, 90,000 words) manually
annotated with a fine-grained classification of NE's in context,
following the HAREM guidelines, available on the site).

Researchers having NE systems that (might) deal with Portuguese are
encouraged to contact us in order to participate in the next HAREM
venue.
