    Dear Corpora members,

    The XLDB group of Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa and
    Linguateca -- Distributed Language Resource Center for Portuguese,
    announce Geo-Net-PT01, the first public geographic ontology of Portugal.

    Geo-Net-PT01 contains 418.065 geographic administrative data of Portugal
    with information about municipalities, streets and postal codes, among
    other. In addition to the geographic information, Geo-Net-PT01 includes
    the geographic scope assigned to 686 Web sites. The geographic scope of
    a site corresponds to the region covered by the information published in
    site. For example, the site of the City Council of Lisbon,
    http://www.cm-lisboa.pt, has the geographic scope of the municipality of
    Lisbon.

    Geo-Net-PT01 is freely available to the the scientific community in Web
    Ontology Language (OWL) format. The site http://xldb.fc.ul.pt/geonetpt
    has detailed information on how to obtain Geo-Net-PT01. Geo-Net-PT01 is
    described on a technical report available from
    http://www.di.fc.ul.pt/tech-reports/05-12.pdf.
