*** Sorry for multiple postings ***
Dear All,
We at the Centre for Text Technology (CTexT) at the North-West University (NWU) (South Africa) are in the process of compiling a status report of all initiatives, past and present, regarding Human Language Technologies (HLT) for Afrikaans.
In order to make this report as comprehensive and complete as possible, we would appreciate any relevant information (for instance, details concerning the HSRC's projects in the 1980s, MA/PhD research on technologies such as hyphenators, parsers, machine (assisted) translation systems, speech recognition, etc.). Information on available text and speech corpora would also be of particular interest.
Please send me a short e-mail if you are aware of/involved in any research, developments or other initiatives, past or present, in this regard. Please also indicate whether you would be interested in receiving a copy of the mentioned status report.
Thanking you for your kind assistance.
Kind regards,
Gerhard
