    Agree with Martin and Oliver about context-sensitivity and topic dependence,
    still there are some some works that could help you get started:

    There is a dictionary of affective/emotonal words out there for English
    (forgot exact title) and an article "Words with attitudes" (Jaap Kamps &
    Maarten Marx) using Wordnet and a measure called Minimum Path Length (MPL)
    to derive some emotional content measure.
