    I suggest you take a look at the Regressive Imagery Dictionary from our web
    page:

    This dictionary categorize some words in two broad categories: primary and
    secondary processes which is somewhat close but not identical to "concrete"
    and "abstract" word. The dictionary can be downloaded for free from our
    web site. While the dictionary is available in WordStat format, you should
    be able to read it with any text editor and understand its
    structure. Several validation studies has been made on this dictionary.

    A good reference to the dictionary is:

    Martindale, C. (1990). The clockwork muse: The predictability of artistic
    change. New York: Basic Books.

    You will also find on the web be several other references on this instrument.
