    A position is available for a Research Assistant to work on a research
    project in the Department of Systems Engineering, the Chinese University
    of Hong Kong. The post involves research and development within a
    Chinese Information Extraction project. The appointed person will be
    expected to design and program an Information Extraction prototype
    system, and perform experiments and evaluation tasks based on the
    prototype system.

    Appointment will initially be made on a fixed-term contract basis for
    six months, renewable subject to mutual agreement. Salary will be highly
    competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The
    University offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package.

    Applicants should have (i) at least a Bachelor's Degree in engineering
    or computer science; (ii) at least two years of practical experience in
    software development; (iii) a solid background and strong interest in
    Chinese Natural Language Processing; (iv) proficiency in C/C++/Java/PERL
    programming, (v) a good communication skill, and (vi) fluent in Chinese
    Madarin and English is a plus.
