    There are several conference series that provide evaluation fora for such research:

    1. CLEF, see http://www.clef-campaign.org
    2. TREC, see http://trec.nist.gov
    3. a conference in Japan

    Your favorite choice will depend on the language(s) you are interested in, the exact definition
    of your task, the availability of data from past conferences, etc.
