    Dear list members,

    We are pleased to announce the public release of a complete
    mapping between WordNet 1.6 and WordNet 2.0.

    The mapping covers nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs and
    has been performed by means of an automatic process. We used
    a constraint satisfaction algorithm (relaxation labelling) to select
    -among a set of synset candidates- the synset in WN2.0 that best matches
    each node in WN1.6. We mapped both resources using structural
    information (i.e. synset relationships), and not structural
    information (i.e. glosses, synset words, verb frames, etc).

    You can download the database from:

    http://www.lsi.upc.es/~nlp/tools/mapping.html

    Here you can also find information about the technology we use to
    produce the mappings and also the old mappings:

    * WordNet 1.5 to WordNet 1.6
    * WordNet 1.6 to WordNet 1.7
    * WordNet 1.6 to WordNet 1.7.1

    Best whishes,

    Jordi Daudé, Lluis Padró and German Rigau
