About six weeks ago I asked for anonymous ftp sites and/or web pages
for Eric Brill's tagger and parser. I'd like to thank the following
people for their responses and help (I hope I haven't left anyone out):

Eric Atwell <eric@scs.leeds.ac.uk>
Thomas Bilgram <bilgram@ling.hum.aau.dk>
James Bullen <james@coombs.anu.edu.au>
Stephane Ferrari <ferrari@limsi.fr>
John Kirk <clio.arts.qub.ac.uk>
Dimitrios Kokkinakis <dimitris@svenska.gu.se>
Diana Maynard <maynardd@cs.man.ac.uk>
Bradley Music <music@cst.ku.dk>
Joel Walters <waltej@ashur.cc.biu.ac.il>

Here are the sources for Brill's part-of-speech tagger that I've been
able to verify:

V1.14 (written in C) is available from

1. Brill's web page: http://www.cs.jhu.edu/~brill/

2. John Hopkins via anonymous ftp: ftp.cs.jhu.edu/pub/brill/Programs

3. the web page for the European Network of Repositories for Linguistics:
http://www.de.relator.research.ec.org/resources/rule_based_tagger

4. the anonymous ftp site for the above:
ftp://de.relator.research.ec.org/relator/resources/syn/tools/rule-based-tagger/ftp-file

V1.13 (written in Lisp) is available from the Carnegie Mellon University
Artificial Intelligence Repository:
http://www.cs.cmu.edu/afs/cs/project/ai-repository/ai/areas/nlp/parsing/taggers/brill

All of the above have links or subdirectories containing papers by Brill.

I was also told that the Natural Language Software Registry and the
Centre for Lexical Research distribute the tagger, but I have not been
able to check these out.

I have not been able to get any information about the parser.
