This is directed toward any WordNet afficianadoes on the list:

The "adj.idx" contains a line such as the following:

abridged a 0 3 ! & ^ 1 00004995

where ! = antonym
& = similar
^ = see also

My question is: what is the best way to use these symbols? The fields
represented by these symbols seem to be redundant since words not
followed by the full set of symbols nevertheless are keyed in the
"adj.dat" file to the other indexes, e.g.,

adj.idx lists

abranchiate a 1 1 ! 1 00839016

but the adj.dat file points to synonyms (without the "&" needed).

Thanks, John
