Update on ICAME

At the recent ICAME Conference in Stockholm, it was agreed to change the
name to the "International Computer Archive of Modern and Medieval English",
taking into account the rapidly growing interest within ICAME in diachronic
corpus work. Stig Johansson was replaced as co-ordinating secretary by Matti
Rissanen, University of Helsinki, assisted by Merja Kyto, now at the
University of Uppsala in Sweden. Both of them are well-known for their
pioneering work in the field of English historical corpus research. The
ICAME Journal will continue, with the following editorial team: Merja Kyto,
Anna-Brita Stenstrom, Jan Aarts (review editor).

Professor Sidney Greenbaum

Shortly after the conference we were saddened to hear the news of the
untimely death of Professor Sidney Greenbaum, University College London, who
was for years a key figure within the ICAME community and a member of the
ICAME Advisory Board. He will be deeply missed by friends and colleagues.
