To be developed:

Sites

The main body of information concerns a directory of all sites in Europe that provide education in the area. The directory needs to have the form of a searchable database.  Agreement needs to be reached on which (searchable) fields this database will have. Proposed fields are: A welcome page will be prepared (with our own house style and our logos) that will be made available for all sites that want to join the directory. This welcome page should be placed under the own home pages of the site and should contain living links to all items required. Only when these conditions are fullfilled the site will be included in the JEWELS directory.

What mechanism should be used to get departments involved? If we provide a 'welcome' page
which each department has to mount and to fill with links, what should such a page look like, i.e. what is the minimum information a site should provide? How do we come into contact with all possible sites? What kind of restrictions do we impose?  What language(s) should be used?

Proposed links from the welcome page

per course (optional)

A search engine should be able to find pages in local sites that contain information on a keyword (or even free text).

Phonetics and Speech Communication: CL: NEL: Although in first phase we may limit ourselves to Europe, this structure allows the inclusion of sites from all over the globe.
